Horse rides and lessons surrounded by the natural beauty of the Alto Vergante
Le Fontanelle Ranch is an equestrian centre on Lake Maggiore with over twenty years’ experience, founded to foster a relationship based on respect between people and horses. It is home to around 30 horses, which are managed in a semi-natural way and roam freely in their paddocks, and also produces eggs that can be purchased on site.
Rides
There are many horse riding routes starting from the ranch: from the simplest rides lasting an hour or two, to more challenging half-day routes, to treks for experienced riders. Most of these routes offer panoramic views of Lake Maggiore and the neighbouring lakes.
Lessons
Riding lessons are available on an individual or group basis, depending on the rider’s skill level and requirements. The ranch has two riding areas: a smaller one for beginners (saddling up) and a larger one with a section dedicated to mountain trails. Lessons are available for both adults and children.

Arona
A small town on the shores of the Lake Maggiore. The historic center offers numerous stores, bars and restaurants and is dominated by the majestic statue of San Carlo Borromeo.
San Carlo Statue
The majestic statue of San Carlo Borromeo is to be found above Arona on the shores of the Lake Maggiore. It dates back to 1624, is more than 35 meters high and is considered one of the largest bronze statues in the world.
Borromean Islands
The Isola Bella, the Isola dei Pescatori and the Isola Madre are tourist attractions not to be missed. They are famous for their historic palaces, beautiful gardens and picturesque streets, which are unique in Italy.
Villa Taranto Gardens
The Villa Taranto in Pallanza is a magnificent summer residence in the middle of a 16-hectare park. It was built in 1930 by Mc Eacharn, a Scottish garden enthusiast.
Stresa
Stresa is a historic and picturesque town on the shores of the Lake Maggiore. It is characterized by luxurious hotels in the Liberty style, which are lined up along the lakeside promenade in a magnificent landscape.
Parco Zoologico
